Winter Holiday in the Ahrntal
Ski resorts & winter sports areas for the highest demands
Snow-covered slopes, cross-country ski trails in sunny winter landscapes, natural toboggan runs, and plenty of routes for winter and snowshoe hikes – all this awaits you on your winter holiday in the Ahrntal. There are three ski areas in our winter sports region. One can be found in the holiday village of Steinhaus: The Klausberg ski area offers 33 outstanding, well-groomed kilometres of slopes, with 8 lift systems to take you up. The highest 8-seater cable car in South Tyrol carries you quickly to lofty heights. At the Klausberg ski area, you can enjoy skiing pleasure at altitudes of up to 2,500 metres in all degrees of difficulty. And while you zoom down the slopes, your kids can have fun at the ski kindergarten.
Ample cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and tobogganing in the Ahrntal
In the Ahrntal, you can also use the Speikboden - Sand in Taufers and Rein in Taufers ski areas. The latter is especially suitable for novice skiers and families. On the other hand, at Speikboden, you’ll find the longest downhill valley run in South Tyrol, with 1,500 metres of elevation difference. Much more contemplative are the 51 total kilometres of cross-country ski trails that run around Kasern, Mühlwald, Lappach, Weißenbach, and Rein in Taufers. Here at the Klausberg winter sports area, you can also climb on your toboggan at any time and rush down illuminated slopes into the valley shouting “Hurrah!” If you’d rather spend your winter holiday in the Ahrntal away from the slopes, picturesque snowshoe routes that lead over snow-covered alpine meadows, mountain hut frolics, and romantic rides in horse-drawn sleighs beckon.
